Helping Communities Do Better

Atlantic is proud to support our communities through a variety of programs — from providing donations, fundraising activities and college scholarships to maintaining a strong sense of volunteerism among our employees. We are focused on making a difference in the lives of our members, their children, friends, and neighbors.

2016 Supported Organizations

Besides raising funds, the credit union was a strong supporter of over 70 local organizations and events by generously giving $31,000 of community sponsorships.  Some of these organizations include: the Tedford Shelter, United Way of Midcoast Maine, Freeport Community Services, Cumberland Food Pantry, American Red Cross, PeoplePlus, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the American Cancer Society.

Atlantic's Ending Hunger (2016) Campaign

Funds raised through various events raised a total of over $10,000 in this year's campaign. Donations were made to benefit local hunger organizations such as the Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP), Tedford Shelter, Freeport Community Services (FCS), and the Town of Cumberland (Food Pantry).

MaineCU's Ending Hunger Facts (2016)

The 2016 MaineCUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger initiative raised a record-setting $674,193.48. Since 1990, the year that this collective effort began, Maine's credit unions have raised and distributed more than $7.2 million to help end hunger in Maine.

Financial Education in the Schools 2016-2017

Atlantic Federal Credit Union is a big believer in education and financial education.  We want everyone in our community to do better.  This past school year Atlantic visited 14 different schools, taught over 100 classes and worked with more than 500 students to increase their financial knowledge.
