Helping Communities Do Better
Atlantic is proud to support our communities through a variety of programs — from providing donations, fundraising activities and college scholarships to maintaining a strong sense of volunteerism among our employees. We are focused on making a difference in the lives of our members, their children, friends, and neighbors.
Atlantic Foundation Grants
In September 2021, the Foundation announced a $10,000 grant to support projects or programs that promote, teach, and enhance Financial Skills and Literacy. ProsperityME was the grant recipient in 2021. The Atlantic Federal Credit Union Foundation is focused on providing funds to nonprofit organizations that strengthen, support, and promote the common good in the communities served by Atlantic Federal Credit Union. 2022 Supported Organizations
Overall, Atlantic donated more than $245,000 to over eighty community organizations. Some of these organizations include People Plus Maine, Caring Unlimited, The Center for Grieving Children, Make-A-Wish Maine, Sanford-Springvale YMCA, Elder Abuse Institute of Maine, Grahamtastic Connection, Brunswick Community Education Foundation (BCEF) and WinterKids Education Foundation.
Atlantic's Ending Hunger (2021) Campaign
Throughout the year, Atlantic donated and raised more than $120,000 to support the Campaign for Ending Hunger in Maine. Donations were made to benefit local hunger organizations such as the Bon Appetite Community Meal Program, Footprints Food Pantry, Biddeford Food Pantry, Hollis Center Baptist Church Food Pantry, North Berwick Food Pantry, Sanford Food Pantry, The Buxton Food Pantry, The Saco Food Pantry, York Community Service Association, York County Shelter Programs Inc, OOB Community Food Pantry, Waterboro Food Pantry, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, Tedford Shelter, Community Food Pantry, Freeport Community Services, and Westbrook Food Pantry.

Maine Credit Unions' Ending Hunger Facts (2021)
Maine credit unions contributed $930,367 to end hunger in 2021 and supported 242 organizations across Maine, including local food pantries, meal sites, and schools. Since 1990, the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger has raised over $11.3 million to help end hunger in Maine.
Financial Education in the Schools
Atlantic Federal Credit Union is a big believer in education and financial education. We want everyone in our community to do better. Atlantic staff visits local schools to help teach students the keys to financial fitness.
