How does the Swipe Out Hunger campaign work?
Use your Atlantic debit card and make a qualified purchase from June 1 - June 30, 2026. When Atlantic members collectively reach one million swipes, Atlantic will donate $30,000 to the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger!
What is a qualified purchase?
A qualified purchase is any purchase made with an Atlantic debit card that posts and clears to the checking account.
Does the money being donated come from customers’ accounts?
No, the donation does not come from members’ accounts or affect their balances. Atlantic Federal Credit Union makes the donation. Participating in the Swipe Out Hunger campaign costs members nothing while helping support the fight against hunger in Maine.
What is the Campaign for Ending Hunger in Maine?
The campaign is the signature social responsibility campaign for Maine’s credit unions. 100% of all funds raised through the campaign stay in the state. The initiative is the largest, non-hunger organization-based, philanthropic fundraising effort to end hunger in Maine. In 2025 Atlantic donated and raised more than $159,329 to support the Campaign for Ending Hunger in Maine. The monies raised supported 21 community food pantries in our local communities.
